quite possibly the best night ever

I'm lucky to be living in a time where the market has decided to pile money on top of tech companies. And to impress interns and make us happy, hard working future employees, these companies dish out the perks. I wish every profession in the world got what we got because man its sick. (I think all teachers should have a room full of free snacks to make up for having to deal with all of us when we were tiny little brats.)

Microsoft? Microsoft has the intern signature event.

I don't know that I can even describe in words how cool this event was, so lemme just post some pictures and you'll understand.

Let's just put this picture into context by mentioning that all during this day I was so jealous because Macklemore did a mini set when he was filming a music video in Seattle and I didn't know and wasn't there. And then HERE HE WAS ON STAGE. FOR INTENRS.

VICTORY WAS MINE.












Deadmau5 was also awesome. Many interns can't dance. It's up to you whether or not I am in this category.

And then I got a free surface pro. But I'm a CompSci in the end, so there's gonna be a whole blog post. Cause I got a new tech toy~~

'MERICA

Aka what Stripe did on the 4th o July.

So my office (that I share) at work has four walls like most rooms do. One is painted a different color but the walls by my desk are all WHITE. So BORING. So I've been doing a little bit of decorating aka prevent me from tearing down the walls because plain white is driving me mad. So in the 4th of july spirit I taped up this Pusheen comic:

And then I went to sleep n woke up yadda yadda etc etc THEN CAKE BAM

I saw a picture of this cool strawberry blueberry flag on kraft.com for some weird jello cake but I just did it on regular chocolate cake because yum. But then I saw like at least 5 different people on facebook post pictures of them having made the same cake design. With more even strawberry stripes o__o Oh well it was an awesome cake I nommed out with interns

So apparently /the/ place to see fireworks in Seattle is gasworks park, but it's hella crowded and you have to get there super early in the day to be able to get a spot at all so I was like eeehhhhhhh no. So some interns planned a bbq in bellevue instead and me and my cake zipped on down there cause yeah it was basically the interns and a few random families at this park and I didn't have to get up early to go woo.

So then we went up to watch fireworks and YAY AMERICA

And then we got stuck in the parking garage trying to leave for like 35 minutes because there was a very long line of cars. The people I was with were amusing but seriously that took way too long...
